NEW YORK–Dorothy Roberts, chairman of Echo Design Group, has been given a Hall of Fame award by the Accessories Council.
Roberts was honored at an event held Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur in Grand Central Station here, which also celebrated the 85th anniversary of Echo Design and Roberts’ 80th birthday. Attendees included the company’s licensees, retailers and employees. Patrick Murphy, head of fashion/retail growth initiatives for the New York City Economic Development Corp., read a letter from Mayor Michael Bloomberg thanking Roberts for her contributions to the city’s fashion industry and citing her leadership and guidance in the growth of Echo Design.
Beginning as a manufacturer of scarves, Echo Design has expanded into a supplier of other accessories and home furnishings.
