NORWALK, Conn.–The consumer trends of staying home more rather than going on vacation and storage and organization will be the focus of two new platforms at the National Hardware Show, scheduled for May 5 to 7, 2009, in Las Vegas.
The new Stay-Cation Marketing Center will be anchored by leading gas grill company Char-Broil, which returns to the show after a six-year absence. The center will showcase hands-on testing and education on the new items in grills, outdoor furnishings, accessories, storage and coverings that retailers can market to consumers who choose to spend their vacations at home.
“We are making major changes to inspire manufacturers and retailers with new ideas, education and most importantly, new products to jump-start sales in a challenging marketplace,” said Ed Several, group vice president of the National Hardware Show. “The new Stay-Cation Marketing Center is the first of many new areas we have planned that are specifically designed with our customers’ needs at the forefront.”
The Storage and Organization trend will be another focus at the show, anchored by Gladiator GarageWorks, a leading garage organization company. The company will show attendees its coordinated organization products and appliances made especially for the garage, including brackets, hooks, bins and caddies.
