NEW YORK–The Electrolux partnership with television host Kelly Ripa has expanded to include a new premium line of laundry products.
At a press event here, Ripa, the co-host of ABC’s “Regis and Kelly” show, helped introduce Electrolux’s collection of front-loaded washers and dryers to the North American market. Keith McLaughlin, president and chief executive officer of Electrolux Major Appliances, said the washer and dryer have the world’s largest capacity for these products, and that the various technologies in the products enable consumers to wash and dry a load in a total of 36 minutes. They also use one-half the water and electricity of other laundry appliances and reduce the amount of wrinkles, McLaughlin said.
According to G. Frank Downing, director of product and design for Electrolux, the line is priced from $1,099 to $1,799, and includes two control panels to control the wash-and-dry cycle options.
For each washer-dryer suite sold, $200 will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, of which Ripa has been a leading spokeswoman. The goal is to raise $500,000 altogether for the fund from the sales of this new collection. This is Ripa’s second effort with Electrolux; in April, she helped launch the company’s line of European-styled kitchen appliances to the North American market, of which a portion of the sales also benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
