BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–Whirlpool’s Duet Steam washer has won the IDEA Silver Award from the Industrial Design Society of America.
The IDSA cited the product “for its fresh new look and next-generation cleaning technology,” according to a Whirlpool statement, which added that this is the fourth award the product has won in the past few months. The Duet Steam has also won the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the Spark Award from the Spark Design & Architecture Awards Competition and the Appliance Design Magazine Award from the magazine of that name. “The IDEA program fosters business and public understanding about the impact of industrial design excellence on the quality of life and the economy,” the statement said.
The Duet Steam program also includes a dryer, which offers wrinkle-release and odor-removal features while clothes are in the dryer.
