COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich.–HoMedics has developed a strategic relationship with Microsoft centering on the vendor’s Thera-P blood-pressure monitors.
The monitors are compatible with Microsoft HealthVault, a free Web-based platform that keeps consumers up to date on their health data. Beginning in August, a driver that can be downloaded from the HealthVault Web site and a USB cable available for purchase from HoMedics’ Web site will transfer all the information from a HoMedics blood-pressure monitor into a user’s HealthVault account. This will give consumers the ability to collect, store and share health information with family members and participating health-care providers through private, secure data storage and a sharing system.
Barb Westfield, chief marketing officer for HoMedics, said the alliance with Microsoft meets consumers’ needs for user-friendly health-care products that offer convenience and provide wellness benefits.
