STUTTGART, Ark.–High-end wall decor and accessory manufacturer Kinder Harris Inc. sustained extensive damages to its factory when a tornado hit the town of Stuttgart, Ark., on May 10.
Electricity and phone service are still out in many parts of the town, and may not be restored for another three to five days, company officials said yesterday.
“We are doing our best to secure the factory and its contents, but are expecting more rain,” said Susan Adamson-Ray, who heads the design team. The storm tore the roof back “like a sardine can,” Adamson-Ray said. Company President Kris Lindsey was waiting for insurance agents to assess damage yesterday, she added.
“We’ll know more in a few days, but I’m just trying to get the word out to sales reps and customers,” she said. “The good news is no one was hurt,” she said. Adamson-Ray asked that representatives and customers be patient while the company gets the facility back up and running.
