GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–The Israels family, which purchased 112-year-old Klingman Furniture Co. in January, will relocate the store at the end of May and remerchandise it with the high-end, high-quality goods that made Klingman’s popular in this community, according to a statement.
“The new Klingman’s will be totally restocked with the lines that made Klingman’s famous in the high-end furniture business in the past,” said Robert Israels, who also owns Israels Fine Home Furnishings stores in Grand Rapids. “But before we can relocate,” added Israels, “we must sell out the entire and complete stock from the Klingman’s store located at the Centerpointe Mall as soon as possible.” The Lynch Sales Co., based here, is handling the inventory sale.
Klingman’s carries major brands such as Stickley, Hancock & Moore, Hooker, Hekman, Sealy, Stearns & Foster, Marge Carson, Karastan, Howard Miller, Universal, Shermag, Lexington Brands, Nichols & Stone and Canadel. It also carries Bradington Young, Ferguson Copeland Superior and Hammary, along with others.
The company said it has not decided where the new store will be located.
