LAS VEGAS–The second day of Las Vegas Market is underway as companies unveil products along with numerous new or expanded showrooms.
Several companies returned to exhibit at the show. Kaleen Rugs returned to Las Vegas with its new, 3,500 square-foot showroom in Building C, C-407. It exudes an urban feel, which is how Kaleen will look from now on, said Monty Rathi, principal.
Orian Rugs also returned to Las Vegas, and debuted its 6,300 square-foot showroom in Building A, A-4107. It also debuted its kids’ collection, filling a niche it saw in the marketplace. About 20 initial designs were shown.
The HGTV Home Sleep Collection is receiving attention at market. The collection, from Dreams LLC, includes mattresses, adjustable bed bases, mattress toppers, crib mattresses and pet bed products. Mattress industry veteran Scott Miller is the president of Dreams LLC.
New exhibitor Kenroy Home debuted its 1,500 square-foot showroom in Building A. While it doesn’t show its whole line in this showroom, it does include a good representation, said Joel Wasserbauer, vice president, home furnishings. And the timing was right to come to Las Vegas, he added.
Licensed lines continued to expand. At AF Lighting, the Candice Olson line grew with several new table lamps, including a few with laser-cut metal shades and bases in a pearlized finish.
Safavieh debuted its lighting with Thom Filicia, which included table and floor lamps and chandeliers. The company is also showing loveseats for the first time. The official unveiling for the category will be at the next High Point Market.
The Chesterfield sofa has been updated. The always hip H Studio applied crystals for a glamorous effect; Domicil debuted a smaller, contemporary take on the classic design.
Four Hands expanded its Shadow Box Collection with a new end table and cabinets. The company also added to its Bina Collection, featuring unclaimed wood and concrete, with a new coffee table.
French company Acrila debuted its line to the U.S. market with a temporary space showcasing its acrylic line of furniture.
New category expansions included decorative pillows at Cyan Design, which came to market with 320 new items overall.
Shags are still a strong category in area rugs. Feizy showed its Beckley shag line, a microfiber shag with a high pile in three neutral colors. Nourison had new shags in all of its brands, but all were a little different, and included the Puli item in the Calvin Klein line. Kaleen’s Posh polyester shag is available in 20 colors.
