ATLANTA–Simmons has joined forces with Big Tree Furniture & Industries on a new collection and Simmons- and Beautyrest-branded futon mattresses.
The collection will include a range of full and queen models that use either the Simmons or Simmons Beautyrest brand names. The innerspring futons will use Simmons’ open-coil design, while higher-priced models will incorporate 4-inch-tall Beautyrest-trademarked Pocketed Coil springs. The line will officially launch in April, and the full line will be displayed at the July Las Vegas Market, according to a Simmons statement.
Tim Oakhill, Simmons’ executive vice president of marketing, said the alliance with Big Tree makes sense because “futons are an essential part of our licensing portfolio and fit a specific consumer need.”
