ADDISON, Texas–Mattress Giant has completed two acquisitions that have increased its store count, and its presence in the Atlanta and Tampa, Fla., areas.
The retailer, which has been increasing its store counts in a number of U.S. regions, bought Mattress Expo of Atlanta, with 24 stores, and Tampa-based Clearwater Mattress, with 21 stores. The two deals bring Mattress Giant’s total store count to 340 locations, and has pushed up its presence to 14 states.
In a Mattress Giant statement, Barrie Brown, the retailer’s president and chief executive officer, said the two acquisitions “are part of our yearlong expansion and growth,” and that the Atlanta and Tampa markets “have tremendous growth potential for our company.”
The statement also said the stores acquired in the two deals will be remodeled to match the existing Mattress Giant format.
