MINNEAPOLIS-In a preliminary report on its fiscal fourth quarter, Select Comfort said total net sales in the quarter rose 5 percent to $231 million.
The company’s sales included a flat sales performance from its company-controlled stores. Through November, Select Comfort was experiencing solid results in both sales and expense controls. From Cyber Monday through the end of December, however, sales trends fell below the company’s internal goals.
Shelly Ibach, Select Comfort’s president and CEO, said the post-Thanksgiving slowdown “reflected a tepid retail holiday shopping season. We expect this challenging environment to continue in 2014 and are planning accordingly.”
