TRINITY, N.C.–Lawrence J. Rogers, president and CEO of Sealy, will retire in 2012, ending a more-than-three-decade career with the nation’s largest mattress manufacturer.
The company’s board of directors has formed a search committee and retained an executive search firm to find Rogers’ successor. Rogers, who is 63, will stay on in his posts until his successor is appointed, a Sealy statement said.
Rogers joined Sealy as sales manager of its Winnipeg facility in 1979. He assumed various leadership roles in Sealy’s international business, eventually becoming president of the international bedding group in 2001, and then president of the North America unit in 2006. He was appointed president and CEO in 2008, succeeding David McIlquham.
