SHELTON, Conn.-Ken Hinman has been named executive vice president of component and direct-to-retail sales for Latex International.
In this newly created position, Hinman oversees the sales operations and marketing for Latex International, Pure LatexBLISS and the company’s RejuveNite brand. He reports to Dave Fisher, president and CEO.
Hinman’s career encompasses 30 years of experience in the consumer durables category, including six years in the mattress industry. Most recently, he was senior vice president at Jamison Bedding. Prior to this, he held senior sales positions with Hartmann Luggage and Elizabeth Arden Fragrances.
Separately, Latex International announced that it has increased production at its Texas plant and tapped into warehouse inventory reserves around the country to meet its customers’ interim shipping needs, in response to the fire at its River Road factory here. The company also said power has been restored to the office areas of the Shelton facility.
Fisher said that following the fire, which broke out on June 26, Latex International became the target of “false statements and misleading remarks,” and that the company has engaged its legal team “to take all appropriate steps in response to any misrepresentation of the facts” regarding both the fire and its ongoing chapter 11 bankruptcy case.
“In regard to our chapter 11 case, we are moving forward as scheduled with the reorganization process,” Fisher said. “Our chapter 11 attorney has confirmed that despite the fire and any rumors to the contrary, the company remains in complete control of all its operations and assets, like any other debtor-in-possession.”
