RICHMOND, Va.–Carpenter Co. and actress Betty White, who became a spokeswoman for the company’s consumer education campaign last month, will participate in the Bedtime Stories Project later this month.
As part of this effort, Carpenter has initiated a national search for the best original bedtime story, one made up by parents as opposed to those published by children’s authors. Stories will be chosen to be read by White at an event in Los Angeles on May 26, and one story will be chosen to receive a full illustration by artist Bill Nelson.
Carpenter’s SleepBetter.org Web site will serve as the home for the Bedtime Stories Project. Visitors will find tips on how to develop their own bedtime stories, a link for submitting their original stories and an icon by which they can rate each story. The site also provides information on the use of bedtime stories to establish healthy sleep habits with children.
