KÖPING, Sweden–Hästens has launched an initiative whereby it will make a donation to the National Forest Foundation for each bed sold in the United States during the company’s “Support Your Sleep and Our Natural Resources” campaign.

The campaign runs through April 30. The foundation will plant at least one native tree for each dollar Hästens donates.

The “Support Your Sleep and Our Natural Resources” campaign was begun to coincide with Hästens’ “Natural Cornerstone,” which is dedicated to communicating the benefits of natural materials to both individuals’ sleep and the environment. The company manufactures beds using natural materials, including pine obtained only from sustainable forests, wool, cotton and horsehair, and using no chemicals or toxic materials that are detrimental to people or the environment, the company said in a statement.
