KÖPING, Sweden–Nick Braden has been named global president of high-end mattress manufacturer Hästens.

Braden assumes responsibility over the search for strategic opportunities for the company on a global level. He also oversees the centralized functions supporting the company’s worldwide operations.

Jan Ryde, the chief executive officer and fifth-generation owner of Hästens, had performed these functions and remains at the head of the business. In a company statement, Ryde said he will concentrate on strengthening Hästens’ strategic direction, while Braden assumes the management role.

Braden, who will be based in Washington, had served as general manager of Mars Drinks prior to assuming his new post. His career also includes executive positions with McKinsey & Co. in Europe, L’Occitane and Staples.
