BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–David Szczupak has been appointed executive vice president of the Global Product Organization for Whirlpool.
The move puts Szczupak in charge of the company’s global product businesses and strategic sourcing. He reports directly to Jeff Fettig, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, and succeeds Mike Thieneman, who has retired.
Before joining Whirlpool, Szczupak was chief operating officer of Dura Automotive Systems, a supplier of automotive parts, in which he directed product development, purchasing, manufacturing and quality control. He also worked for Ford Motor Co. in senior leadership positions, including group vice president of manufacturing and vice president of power-train operations.
