WASHINGTON–Joseph McGuire, president of the Association of Home Appliances Manufacturers, has been elected to the board of directors of the American National Standards Institute.
McGuire will begin his three-year term on the ANSI board on Jan. 1. The institute is a private, non-profit organization that oversees the creation and use of standards and guidelines for a variety of industries. AHAM is a standards development organization accredited by ANSI and maintains 19 performance standards, most of which are also accredited by ANSI, according to an AHAM statement.
“The ANSI accreditation process has been an integral part of AHAM’s standards development process for the credibility it lends to our standards,” McGuire said.
