AHAM Participates in U.S.-China Safety Summit

WASHINGTON–Representatives of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers are accompanying a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission delegation to the third biennial United States-China Consumer Product Safety Summit.
Meetings began yesterday, and are scheduled to take place through Monday, Oct. 26 in Wuxi, China, Shanghai and Beijing. The goal is to “identify and discuss measures to ensure that U.S. importers and Chinese suppliers establish a comprehensive and systemic approach preventing and detecting safety hazards in consumer products,” according to a statement from AHAM. The visit will also include factory tours.
Other participants include J.C. Penney, Mattel, the Toy Industry Association, the American Fireworks Association and product-testing groups.
