CHATSWORTH, Calif.–Pacific Coast Lighting released its first collection dedicated solely to energy efficiency at the Las Vegas Market this week. In the process of becoming Energy Star approved, the portable lighting group also targets a younger consumer with its contemporary designs.
“This is not a run-of-the-mill line where we stuck a fluorescent bulb in it,” said Rick Spicer, vice president of sales and marketing, adding that it’s an original line designed for energy efficiency.
Most other energy-efficient lighting collections focus on hardwire products, Spicer said, and this was the first group he knew of that concentrated on portables only. Pacific Coast Lighting’s new group of 14 SKUs includes lamps with plug outlets in their bases—an old idea that is new again, according to Spicer.
