ELVERSON, Penn.–Coating company Whitford Worldwide has debuted two redesigned websites — productknowledge.com and whitfordww.com — as well as the release of its new mobile version, whitfordww.com/mobile. Targeting manufacturers, importers and retailers, each is designed to simplify the efforts of those designing, developing, sourcing and buying housewares products that use nonstick coatings.
Developed as the audience using their smart phones for information grows, the newest tool is Whitford’s new Mobile Housewares Coating Guide, which helps one find information on coatings at any time.
On Whitford’s home page on its redesigned website, visitors can choose between browsing the Housewares or the Industrial section. In the Housewares section, the company provides the Housewares Coating Guide, and one can browse for information by category, brand or application. Information can also be found on the home page by clicking on one of the tabs at the top, which includes such topics as Problems We Solve, Markets We Serve, Products We Offer and Application Advice. Whitford literature on all of its products and services is also available for download, and for someone starting a new project, there is the Nonstick Coating Development Checklist.
Initially launched in 2006, the Product Knowledge Network provides information about the nonstick coatings, so one can be able to develop, buy and source product, and help to avoid common and often costly mistakes. Information grouped into three categories — Coating Information, Product Knowledge and Everything Else — for faster and easier searching. Such topics as what is a fluoropolymer, what is a nonstick coating, PFOA and application methods are discussed in detail. In addition, the site now also offers information on such product development topics as substrates, handles and fittings and heat sources.
