BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–Whirlpool plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Tenn., to produce premium cooking products.
Measuring about 1 million square feet, the new factory will replace the existing, 100-year-old plant already in that community and will produce premium ranges, cooktops and ovens. The project will also include a distribution center measuring 400,000 square feet. A Whirlpool statement said the company will invest $120 million in the new facility, which is expected to add 130 jobs to the current level of 1,500 employees in Cleveland.
Construction is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
