WEST BEND, Wis.–The main gallery design for the West Bend Company/Regal Ware Historic Museum will be unveiled by the Washington County Historical Society here this afternoon.
In the works since 2001, the new gallery will include the collection of West Bend Co., which was founded in 1911 and produced such cookware and small appliances as a waterless cooker and a drip coffeemaker for decades. As Regal Ware has been a supporter of the project, Jeffrey Reigle, president and chief executive officer, and James Reigle, chairman of the board, will speak at the event.
The gallery will highlight the collection, as well as tell the story of women’s history, American consumerism and local history. In addition, earth-friendly practices were a focus of the gallery’s design, which will incorporate recycled materials and low-energy-use lighting.
The expected opening date of the main gallery is November.
