TORONTO — In another new twist in building social networks, Umbra, the furnishings and decorative accessories company based here, is offering to give a $1 credit for its products to its customers who recommend friends to join Umbra’s Facebook fan club. The offer went out in a message to Umbra’s email list last week and was capped off at $1000 on a first-come, first-served basis. The Umbra Facebook page currently lists 944 fans.
When you recommend a friend you are automatically taken to Umbra’s website. It is not known if the limit has been reached yet.
