SUGAR LAND, Texas–Tramontina USA will expand its U.S. production with the addition of a new production line at its Manitowoc, Wisc., plant. Expected to be operational by spring 2014, the new line will address the demand for color and ceramic-coated cookware, the company said.
Tramontina has been manufacturing aluminum nonstick cookware at this facility since 2005, and it now produces more than 50,000 units per day. By producing in the U.S., the company said it can get products to market faster and have better quality control and customer service. The company is also able to offer lower minimum quantities and greater flexibility in cookware finishes and customization because of the domestic production, it said, and ensure compliance with ethical manufacturing standards.
“We are excited about increasing production of our Made in the USA products to include a variety of colors and ceramic-coated cookware. We’ve seen tremendous growth and opportunity both with retailers who want to carry quality Made in the USA products at competitive pricing and with consumers, who more than ever, are wanting to buy domestic-made products,” said Antonio Galafassi, president and CEO of Tramontina USA.
Tramontina will show in booth S2240 at the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago.
