SEATTLE–Kitchen tool and gadget company Tovolo has appointed former retailer Kerry Niesen as its new sales and marketing manager. Reporting to Tovolo’s director of sales and marketing, Deb Flynn, Niesen will establish and cultivate relationships with independent specialty retailers as well as play a central role in Tovolo’s merchandising programs, the company said.
Niesen brings nearly 20 years of retail and housewares experience to Tovolo, having served as the owner of Seattle-based specialty retailer, City Kitchens, the former kitchenware retailer that was a downtown fixture for both locals and tourists. Niesen began at the retailer as a stock person and advanced through various roles in customer service, promotion, merchandising and sales to eventually become the owner.
“Independent retailers are the cornerstone of Tovolo’s business and Kerry is the perfect person to lead this effort. His extensive first-hand experience at City Kitchens gave him an innate understanding of the needs of this vital housewares segment,” said Flynn.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Tovolo family,” said Niesen. “Having worked with the company as a retailer for so many years, I am happy to take on an internal role with such a highly respected and creative team.”
