STAMFORD, Conn.-- The margarita isn't the only beverage getting attention from the small electrics industry. The old-fashioned martini of James Bond and long-business-lunch fame now has a dedicated product available at retail.
Waring has introduced the Waring Pro Professional Martini Maker, an electric product that provides features for either shaking or stirring martinis through a touchpad control. The Professional Martini Maker produces a martini in one minute, although users have the option to stop the product at any time during the mixing cycle.
Part of the new product is a 20-ounce cocktail shaker that can be put in the dishwasher, and a 1-ounce measuring cap. According to a Waring statement, the ideal serving size for one martini is 5 to 6 ounces. The shaker has an indicator line that shows the maximum amount of ice to add. These features, Waring said, give users the flexibility to serve themselves or either a small or large group.
Given that consumers like their martinis well chilled, the Professional Martini Maker brings cocktails to a temperature of 34 degrees after the mixing cycle is complete. The design includes a brushed stainless-steel exterior and black accents, and a sturdy base that keeps the product in place during the mixing process.
Waring has included a recipe booklet for preparing a wide range of martinis. It can also be used for margaritas and other mixed drinks.
The Professional Martini Maker retails at $99.95. It is part of a line of Waring Pro-branded beverage-related products, which includes the Double Wine Chiller and the Cordless Wine Chiller. The former has 33 preset wine temperatures for cooling white wine, red wine, champagne and other sparkling wines. It can chill two bottles simultaneously, and is priced at $149.
The Cordless Wine Chiller is a rapid wine chiller that uses ice and water without a temperature control. It includes a countdown timer and an instruction booklet that recommends the number of minutes each wine requires. It also has two wine holders that accommodate bottles up to 4 inches in diameter, and is priced at $49.95.
