MADISON, Wis.–Spectrum Brands’ Russell Hobbs division and Stanley Black & Decker have agreed to extend Russell Hobbs’ license with Black & Decker through Dec. 31, 2015.
The Black & Decker license encompasses beverage products, food-preparation products, garment-care products and cooking products in North America, Latin America (excluding Brazil) and the Caribbean. The company then known as Applica first gained this license in 1998. In December 2007, Applica and Black & Decker extended the license through 2012, with a potential extension through December 2014.
The following year, Applica merged with Salton to form a company called Salton Inc., which was then renamed Russell Hobbs in 2009. Russell Hobbs merged with Spectrum last June.
