STAMFORD, Conn.-Philips Norelco is partnering with five National Hockey League teams to provide prizes for fans who grow the best playoff beards during the NHL playoffs.
The sweepstakes, called “Go With A Real Pro,” is intended to promote the company’s line of electric shavers and groomers. Fans of the New York Rangers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the St. Louis Blues, the Detroit Red Wings and the Nashville Predators enter by promising to grow their playoff beards for as long as their teams last in the playoffs. They can get in one final shave before their teams’ first game with the Philips Norelco PowerTouch by Aquatec, and during the final round, can use the Philips Norelco Vacuum Stubble and Beard Trimmer Pro or the Multigroom Pro “to shift game momentum after a loss,” according to a Philips Norelco statement.
In addition, former NHL players Jeremy Roenick and Mike Modano will compete with each other for the best playoff beard.
At each of the teams’ arenas, the company will also have activities including the Philips Norelco Real Pro Photo Station, which allows fans to take photos of their beards in a hockey pro cut-out, learn how to enter the sweepstakes and share their photos online; the Philips Norelco Pro Beard Zone, a branded section of the arena where fans can receive Philips Norelco/team paraphernalia; and the Philips Norelco Pro Beard Cam, which will spot game attendees with the best beards.
