NEW YORK–Nespresso is planning to launch the Pixie, its smallest coffeemaker ever, at the upcoming New York International Gift Fair.
The new model features side panels in anodized aluminum, inspired by industrial, minimalist design. Its technology includes ergonomic capsule insertion and automatic ejection of used capsules, automatic and programmable coffee quantity (espresso and lungo; 1.35 ounces for espresso, 4.75 ounces for lungo), a removable water tank and water level detection, and positions for a cup or a macchiato glass. A Nespresso statement said its automatic power mode means that it uses 40 percent less energy than other coffeemakers.
The Pixie comes in electric indigo, electric red, electric titan, electric lime, electric aluminum and electric steel blue. It’s priced to retail at $249.
Nespresso will be exhibiting in the Gourmet Housewares Show section of the Gift Fair.
