ROSEMONT, Ill.–Peter Navarro, a recognized expert and author on China, will give the keynote address to open this year’s Chief Housewares Executives SuperSession conference conducted by the International Housewares Association.
A professor at the University of California-Irvine, Navarro is also a regular contributor to CNBC, author of “The China Wars” and the host of “The China Effect,” which appears on YouTube. According to an IHA statement, his expertise lies in his big-picture application of macroeconomic analysis to the business environment and financial markets.
The 2008 CHESS, scheduled for Sept. 9 to 10, will also include sessions on creating innovation through design, making sustainability a part of a company’s marketing strategy and the impact of consumer trends on future business initiatives. Breakout sessions will cover emerging markets for sourcing, dealing with retail bankruptcies and protecting intellectual property. The conference will close with a retailer panel providing advice on how to be a top-tier supplier.
