READING, Mass.-The Keurig business unit of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) will consolidate its three Massachusetts facilities to one location in Burlington, Mass.
The three facilities are currently located here, in Wakefield, Mass., and in Woburn, Mass. The relocation will take place in phases over the next several years, according to a GMCR statement. The Burlington location is an office complex and will provide increased square footage “to support the company’s expanding innovation efforts and new product-development capabilities,” the statement said.
Michelle Stacy, Keurig’s president, said it was necessary to find a location that could support the company’s current and anticipated growth. The Burlington location “will enable us to consolidate our resources in a single location,” Stacy said, “allowing for even greater collaboration among our functional teams while, at the same time, giving us the ability to greatly enlarge and improve space dedicated to research and development.”
The new location will also reinforce “the underpinnings of the GMCR culture, as well as the Keurig brand, by fostering closer teamwork and providing for space dedicated to the ongoing training and education of our employees, a critical facet of GMCR’s culture and philosophy,” Stacy added.
