RYE, N.Y.—Revenue for Jarden’s fiscal year 2011 should reach about $6 billion, according to preliminary results from the housewares giant.
If the total meets expectations, it would represent growth in the neighborhood of 16 percent over fiscal 2009 and a new record for the company. For the fourth quarter alone, revenue should be at least $1.65 billion, also a new record and about 18 percent ahead of the fiscal 2009 fourth quarter. Jarden said in a statement about the preliminary results that the increases owed to “strong organic growth and contribution from acquisitions.”
Last April, Jarden closed its acquisition of the baby-care and home-care businesses of Mapa Spondex, which became part of its Branded Consumables unit.
“The quarter’s strong performance is the culmination of what was an outstanding year for Jarden,” said Martin Franklin, chairman and chief executive officer. “The improving consumer environment combined with the investments made in the business and the tuck-in acquisitions completed throughout the year resulted in record sales and segment earnings performance.”
