ROSEMONT, Ill.-The Housewares Export Council (HECNA) will sponsor its Global Forum in Panama City on Sept. 15-18.
The council is a special-interest group of members of the International Housewares Association who are focused on increasing their international business. The event is open to HECNA members and non-members.
Sessions will be conducted on key retailers, market opportunities and international business issues. Among the topics are an overview of the international marketplace, export compliance, European Union compliance and strategic problem solving. There will also be sessions on opportunities in Australia, Brazil, Colombia, France, Panama and South Africa.
The forum also includes a retail tour of Panama City, with stops at retailers such as Pricesmart, Do It Center, Dorians, Casas y Casas, Riba Smith, Ceasar Arrocha, Macho Tacho and Stevens. An optional visit to the Colon Duty Free Trade Zone, about 50 miles from Panama City, is also on the agenda.
