WATERBURY, Vt.-Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), parent of the Keurig brand of single-cup coffee brewers and pods, has begun efforts to evolve its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
The company is collaborating with SustainAbility, an advisor to companies on corporate responsibility and sustainability. The effort includes a thorough review and analysis of material sustainability opportunities, making use of external stakeholder feedback and competitive benchmarking. The result, according to a GMCR statement, will be “a sharpened and continued focus on those areas and initiatives that can deliver the greatest value to all stakeholders, and where the company can have the greatest societal and business impact.”
Brian Kelley, president and CEO of GMCR, described sustainability as “a cornerstone of its culture and business performance. As the company evolves, it is prudent and good practice to review (corporate social responsibility) activities to ensure they reflect the current state of business, the needs of stakeholders and the maximum potential impact these activities can have on our business and the world around us.”
