WATERBURY, Vt.–Green Mountain Coffee, the parent company of Keurig, has announced the 14 winners of its coffee Haiku contest, where people were asked to submit a poem about coffee in the traditional Haiku poetry format.
“Coffee is inspirational,” said Susan Cote, director of brand marketing, Green Mountain Coffee, in a statement. “We’re happy to celebrate coffee in this way, and put great coffee poetry from our loyal customers in the hands of millions.”
Two of the winning entries were: “If forced to decide/between coffee and fine wine/well, please pass the cream” and “Because some things do/amount to a hill of beans/drink some Green Mountain.”
The winning Haikus will be featured on the company’s eco-friendly paper cups until the end of the year. The company sells more than a billion cups of coffee a year.
