WATERBURY, Vt.-Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), parent of Keurig, has reached an agreement with Cinnabon that will bring Cinnabon bakery-inspired coffee in Keurig K-Cup packs to the market.
The Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll K-Cup pack is inspired by the company’s “hot-out-of-the-oven” cinnamon rolls, according to a joint statement from GMCR and Cinnabon. These packs are being targeted to launch on GMCR websites (keurig.com and greenmountaincoffee.com) during the 2013 holiday season. They will be offered to retail and away-from-home channels, including Cinnabon bakery locations, by spring 2014.
Kat Cole, Cinnabon’s president, said offering Cinnabon K-Cups is part of the company’s strategy “to aggressively seek out opportunities in fast-growing channels and segments with loyal consumers.”
