CHICAGO–Dyson has released its latest Ball upright vacuums, the DC24 and the DC25. Both use Dyson’s patented Ball technology, and the DC24, weighing at less than 12 pounds, is the lightest Dyson upright yet. The DC25 weighs 16 pounds.
Dyson’s Ball technology replaces the traditional four fixed wheels that run on an axle, so the consumer can pivot the vacuum more easily.
“Traditional vacuums force you to drag the machine around and do multiple three-point turns, backwards and forwards, many times,” said founder James Dyson. “We’ve engineered Ball technology to solve this fundamental flaw. Balls sit on a single point, meaning it can pivot and turn on a dime.”
The DC24 ($399.99) and the DC25 ($499.99) are now both available for pre-order on dyson.com. They will be in stores in March.
