DERBYSHIRE, England–Tabletop company Denby stepped into the “cook shop” for the first time, showing its new line of porcelain cookware and serveware with BBC food anchor James Martin at the recent Ambiente show.
“Denby wants to expand its business,” said Martin Duggan, Denby’s sales director. Martin’s line “stretches the brand into new categories.”
The line is divided between “cook” and “serve” items. The cook products have a specially developed coating called easyclean, so that grease, stains and baked-on food can be washed off easily, Duggan said. The 15 products in this group range from casserole dishes, souffles, pie dishes and even a divided dish, allowing for two foods to be cooked at once. Each piece is packaged with a recyclable cardboard wrap, which will include product design details and serving suggestions from Martin. Denby’s Web site will carry recipes for the pieces as well.
The serve group contains 11 items from triangular plates and bowls to a new petal-shaped large platter.
