NEW YORK–In a recent Consumer Reports article on cookware sets, the Swiss Diamond Reinforced non-stick pans were deemed to be the “best performers overall.” The magazine said it tested 32 models and picked ten for its Select Ratings. The Swiss Diamond pans were not included in that category, the magazine said, because they were priced above the price range being considered.
A total of five sets were ranked CR Best Buys, including products from Earth Pan, Emerilware, Starfrit, GreenPan and Calphalon. Another five were “recommended.”
According to CR, the Swiss Diamond pans, which have a $500 price tag, do not contain PFOA, which the magazine calls “a potentially harmful chemical.” Swiss Diamond says the surface of its pans is made of a nanoparticle composite of diamond crystals.
