EL PASO, Texas-Helen of Troy’s board of directors has appointed Julien Mininberg, who became the company’s CEO earlier this month, to the board until the next annual meeting of shareholders.
A company statement said the board will nominate Mininberg as a director at the shareholders meeting. His appointment fills the vacancy created by the departure of Gerald Rubin, who recently left as Helen of Troy’s chairman, president and CEO.
Mininberg succeeded Rubin as CEO on March 1. Timothy Meeker, an independent director, succeeded Rubin as chairman.
Mininberg had served as president and CEO of Kaz prior to his appointment as Helen of Troy CEO. Helen of Troy acquired Kaz in 2010.
