NEW YORK-Bodum’s Bistro b.over coffeemaker has been honored with a Best of What’s New Award from Popular Science magazine.
The product is one of 100 award winners across 12 categories designated by the magazine, which described the Bistro b.over as “the gold standard of coffeemaking.” Popular Science cited its “painstaking pour-over method,” in which water is heated to just shy of boiling and then moved through borosilicate glass tubes to a titanium-plated stainless-steel filter.
During this movement, the coffeemaker passes through a showerhead to drench grounds evenly for proper coffee extraction. The coffee then drips directly into a double-walled carafe to preserve the heat and flavor.
A Bodum statement said the Popular Science award “reflects Bodum’s consistent attention to product design, innovation and trend setting in the housewares market.”
