NINGBO, China–Veken Group, a manufacturer of coral fleece blankets, has reached a settlement with Changzhou Aoyang Textiles regarding the latter’s alleged patent infringement of Veken’s coral fleece products, according to a Veken statement and a copy of the settlement provided to HFN.
Under the terms of the settlement (a translation given to HFN of a document handwritten in Chinese), Changzhou Aoyang has agreed to stop manufacturing and selling its coral fleece blankets. In order to continue manufacturing and selling the products, it must first apply to Veken for a license or purchase the products directly from Veken.
Changzhou Aoyang did not respond to a request for comment on the settlement. In September, Veken and JLA Home of Fremont, Calif., reached a partnership agreement whereby JLA gained the exclusive distribution rights in the United States to the coral fleece product line.
