Shades of India Gets ‘Best of Market’ Award in Best New Products Competition

NEW YORK–The Floating Bloom duvet introduced by Shades of India has received the “Best of Market” award in the New York Home Textiles Week Best New Products Awards.
The new duvet is designed with hand-appliqued circles that represent floating lotus leaves. Among other winners, Traditions took the best-product award in the bed category for its Clay Palazzo duvet by Charlotte Moss, which is made from French gaufraged ultra suede. The two finalists in the bed category were Blissliving Home for its Carrie comforter set and F.lli Graziano fu Severino for its luxury cashmere collection.
In the bath category, Matouk was the best-product winner for its Auberge 650-gram Egyptian cotton double-twist terry towels, which are designed in monogrammed relief letters. The finalists are Forza Home for its traditional Turkish Haman towel collection, and Peacock Alley for its Bamboo Basic towel and bamboo rug.
Matteo took the best-product prize in the dining category for its Folk hemstitch and hand-embroidered tablecloth, which is garment dyed and washed in a way that replicated 100-year-old linens. The two finalists were Madeira Embroideries for its tablecloth with flowers in linen application and Valentine Fine Italian Home Linens for its Naughty Nighttime pillows.
Fino Lino received the best-product prize in the home-accessories category for its Tokyo Jacquard throw pillows and sofa throws, designed in a multiple collage of retro geometric shapes and gem colors. The two finalists in home accessories were Anne De Solene for its personalized tea towels and V Rugs & Home for its decorative pillow.
Penny Sikalis, vice president of George Little Management, owner and manager of New York Home Textiles Market Week, said that “these companies and products exemplify the talent and ingenuity in the home textiles industry today.” The show runs through Wednesday, Feb. 6.
