KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.—The International Furnishings and Design Association has designated Joe Ruggiero as this year’s winner of its Trailblazer Award.

Ruggiero will be honored for his career as a home-furnishings designer, television host, product spokesman and magazine editor-in-chief. His career includes serving as advertising director for WestPoint Pepperell (now WestPoint Home), director of advertising and creative director for Ethan Allen, editor-in-chief and publishing director of Hachette’s Home magazine, and host of and producer of home-design TV series and specials on HGTV. He has also been a product spokesman for Ethan Allen, Glidden and Kohler.

IFDA will present the award to Ruggiero on Sept. 17 at a dinner at the Hotel Sofitel in Philadelphia.
