SAN DIEGO–Lenzing Fibers has reached an agreement with Koni Corp. and KOJO Worldwide to develop environmentally friendly bedroom textiles, draperies, bath products and spa products for hotel and resort properties.
The agreement involves the use of Lenzing’s patented Modal and Tencel fibers to produce top-of-the-bed products, sheeting, inserts, towels, robes and other bath products. Modal and tencel are both derived from wood pulp cellulose extracted from trees grown in sustainable forests. These fibers are made using a closed-loop process that minimizes waste and conserves resources, according to a joint statement from the three companies.
The new products will be unveiled formally at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, which takes place in New York from Nov. 8 to Nov. 11. Both Koni and KOJO manufacture textiles made from organic cotton, bamboo and recycled and recyclable polyester.
