NEW YORK- Barbara Deichman will leave her position as president of Ralph Lauren Home, effective Dec. 14, retiring from the home furnishings business.
Polo Ralph Lauren released no information about a possible successor. Deichman is a longtime veteran of the home business who started her career at Gimbels, spent many years at Bloomingdale's and was senior vice president at Calvin Klein Home before taking the Lauren post in May of 2004.
During her tenure, the company continued to pursue its two-tiered strategy of separate Ralph Lauren and Lauren Ralph Lauren programs, but she also oversaw the recent launch of the Chaps line at Kohl's and the forthcoming American Living program at J.C. Penney.
She also spearheaded the development of Lauren's sourcing and wholesale division for non-licensed Ralph Lauren products.
"The company thanks Barbara for playing a key role in providing strategic direction, and for making significant contributions toward the growth and enhancement of the home business," the company said in a statement announcing the change.
