CHICAGO-The January edition of the Chicago Market: Living and Giving will feature the Fair Trade Pavilion, a section devoted to artists and products from the Fair Trade Federation.
The federation is a trade association dedicated to supporting North American organizations that are committed to fair trade. These organizations work to alleviate poverty by building equitable and sustainable trading partnerships.
Joan Ulrich, senior vice president of MMPI, which owns and manages the Chicago Market, said the pavilion will feature “an extensive selection” of handcrafted brands and product categories. “As consumers also gravitate toward global products and embrace social responsibility, it has become imperative for retailers to include ethically produced merchandise in their stores’ offerings,” Ulrich said in an MMPI statement.
