NEW YORK–Anna Giannis, the bedding and bath resource headed by its namesake, has expanded into the table linen business with a two-tier program of clothes, placemats, runners and napkins.
“I’ve always wanted to do tabletop,” said Giannis, the Australian designer who heads the one-year old company, based here. “I saw it as a natural extension of what we were doing.”
The higher-end program, under the Anna Giannis label, includes five collections, in solids, jacquards and yarn-dyed designs. Giannis said the patterns were inspired by the colors of Italy and France and are indeed named after cities in those countries, including Milano, Firenze and Venezia.
The opening price group, which goes under the AG Casa Ready to Go Home name, features an extensive line of solid colors in a linen-viscose blend as well as prints, again inspired by European designs.
Both collections will coordinate with the company’s bedding and decorative pillow lines and all will be on view at next month’s textiles market here.
