LITTLEFIELD, Texas–American Cotton Growers (ACG) has unveiled a Web site that offers environmentally friendly denim fabrics.
Located at safedenim.com, the site provides Internet access to the company’s SAFEDenim fabrics, which are produced here at what ACG described in a statement as “the world’s only farmer-owned denim mill.” The site is targeted to manufacturers and retailers of apparel, home furnishings, crafts stores and fabric stores. The denim is sold in both 30-yard and 70-yard rolls.
Founded in 1975, ACG is a subsidiary of the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association, whose president, Wallace L. Darneille, said ACG uses “the best available technology” in recycling and avoiding hazardous waste in the production process.
